Life in Madison

The best time of my life began when my first child was born. But the second best was my time in Madison.

At Rib Mountain State Park. October 11, 2020.

At Governor Dodge State Park. October 16, 2022.

Somewhere in Door County. June 16, 2020.

Sunset on Lake Waubesa. I was kayaking from Lake Monona to Lake Kegonsa. The photo was taken at 8 PM, and it took me another three hours on the boat to get home. June 7, 2020.

I enjoy BBQ-ing. This is at my advisor's home. July 17, 2021.

I usually went to the Varsity Butchery and got five pounds of ribeye. Then, I dry-aged it. This was dry-aged in my advisor's separate fridge. April 8, 2022.

Then, we partied. 3 minutes grilling on each side. No fancy seasoning, just salt and pepper. April 8, 2022.

AAE Bike Gang at Hyde's Mill. June 8, 2023.

With my neighbor during the Slimey Crud Café Racer Run 2022. We were on County Road T in Iowa County, riding from Pine Bluff to Leland. October 3, 2022.

Riding my motorcycle around Madison was fun. But it was dangerous. At 50 mph, any mistake would be fatal.

Please ride your motorcycle responsibly, or don't.

A pleasant morning ride on County Road T in Iowa County. July 28, 2022.

That day, my car's alternator was broken, but as a first-time car owner, I had no idea. I kept driving it around until it stopped on Highway 18, just as we were approaching Madison. Fortunately, we still made it home safely. January 21, 2024.

That evening, Karin Wu (now a professor at National Taiwan University) came to help and gave us a ride home.

Local farmers also sell eggs, squash, and pumpkins near the mill. The price was unbeatable. September 27, 2023.

I was sailing with my advisor and his team a few times. These photos were taken during a tournament on Lake Mendota. August 2022.

My wife and I were on the way to Picnic Point during a winter storm. January 12, 2024.

That day, a neighbor was painting along the shore walk near Mendota Terrace. Five days later, he showed me the piece and said the two people in it were us.

Before leaving for good. 6 AM July 9, 2024.
